SID SOLOMON - ACTOR AND TEACHING ARTIST

Born and raised in Brooklyn, with a significant layover in Minnesota, Sid Solomon has been working as a professional actor and teaching artist at theaters in New York, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and across the country since 2006.

As an actor, his theater credits include productions with The Acting Company, the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Rosalind Productions, Boomerang Theatre Company, and Crosshatch Theatre Company in New York, Florida Stage in Palm Beach, Georgia Shakespeare in Atlanta, and the Guthrie Theater, Children's Theatre Company, Mixed Blood Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Illusion Theatre, Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, Walking Shadow Theatre Company, Gremlin Theatre, and The Playwrights' Center in the Twin Cities.

On camera, Sid has appeared on NBC's "Law & Order", as well as in numerous commercials, industrials, and student films.

From 2007-2010, Sid served on the faculty of the Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company's Theatre Arts Training Program, working with students ages 5-18. Classes he has taught include Primary Conservatory, Junior Conservatory, Junior Intensive, Junior Triple Threat, Intro to Acting, Physical Actor, and Comedy Skit Improvisation. He has also developed and taught theater workshops for a variety of organizations including The Acting Company, the University of Minnesota, the Portsmouth (OH) Area Arts Council, and Keene (NH) High School.

Sid received his training at the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program and New York City's High School of Performing Arts.  He has studied with a wide array of accomplished artists including John Barton, Mark Rylance, Andrew Wade, Thomas Prattki, Scott Freeman, Kenneth Washington, Marcela Lorca, and Kenneth Noel Mitchell, among others. He has completed residencies at London's Royal National Theatre Studio and London International School of Performing Arts, as well as Dublin's Gaiety School of Acting. Sid is a recipient of the Broadway League's Rising Star Award, and a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
